Starting the Day with Healthy Habits

My morning routine and why it’s so important to start your day with a structured daily plan.

To my friends and family when they describe me the first words they use are not structured or organized but somehow I’ve managed to create a winning plan in how I start my day.

I do my best to begin with reading/or listening to my Bible. I listen to the verse of the day in the Bible App and the chronological Bible in a year. Starting with reading something inspirational helps in having a positive mindset.

I also pray. Prioritizing gratitude helps in my attitude and focus.

Then I exercise. Exercise is so important for natural happy hormones to guard against depression and anxiety. When you work in a helping profession, it is so important to stay active. I either go for a three-mile walk with my husband or on my own, getting natural vitamin D, or do a weight training class at my gym, getting social interaction.

Then I eat breakfast that includes protein, fiber, and healthy fats. This helps regulate blood sugar and emotions. I also enjoy a cup of coffee while making sure to hug my dog and check in with family.

Next, I shower and get ready to go to work to show up for my amazing clients.

I would love to hear from you. What are your favorite things you do to start your day off right?
